About Google Earth

Since it launched in 2005, more than one billion people have downloaded Google Earth. Over that time, it has redefined how we see our planet – allowing us to take it in with a single glance, before panning across and zooming into its vast landscapes and tiny cities. It helps us appreciate the unimaginable scale and awesome beauty of our pale blue dot.
