This week, as the global 3D Jam’s Open track continues to heat up, the 16 teams chosen at IndieCade 2014 have been hard at work building 3D experiences for the Select track. One of the teams competing for more than $75,000 in cash and prizes is Lazy 8 Studios with Rhythm Red Alert.

Founded in 2008, Lazy 8 Studios has won numerous awards for its sliding-tile steampunk puzzle game Cogs and the genre-defying interactive experience Extrasolar. Rhythm Red Alert combines the threat of global destruction with wicked beats and fast-paced gameplay.

To avert meltdown, you’ll need to stay one step ahead of a digital antagonist, keeping step with the rhythm challenges that he throws your way. The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive – making you feel like you’re playing the lead role in a sci-fi movie.

Rhythm Red Alert is only in its very early stages, and we’re excited to see how Lazy 8 brings their vision to life. Tweet them @Lazy8Studios or @RobJagnow and follow their progress on the Rhythm Red Alert itch.io submission page. If you’re participating in the jam, be sure to submit early (and often!) for community feedback and support. We’ll be featuring more Select jammers in the coming weeks – so stay tuned!
